Job Description

The Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-earning Assistant Instructional Professor/Executive in Residence. The position will carry an academic rank of Associate or full Instructional Professor of Management dependent upon experience.

 

Education and Experience

Teaching responsibilities will include the undergraduate capstone Business Strategy course as well as other appropriate courses which may include graduate courses depending on qualifications. The normal teaching load for this nine-month position is four classes per semester. While some courses may be delivered in online or hybrid modalities, most courses are delivered face-to-face. A summer teaching contract is generally available.

The ideal candidate will have held a significant leadership role (CEO, CMO, CFO, COO, other) in a reputable regional, national, or international firm. Additionally, a master’s degree in business or closely related field relevant to the mission of the Kelce College is required.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and student success. As a full-time faculty member, the successful candidate will provide service to the university, college and community. Specific college service duties may include advising student organizations, participating in recruitment and retention efforts, and providing support to other Kelce College initiatives.

 

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• MBA or other master’s degree in a relevant field
• Five years of successful experience in a leadership role in a regional, national, or international firm.
• Commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching multiple modalities (including face-to-face and online).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching experience (adjunct experience is acceptable). Experience in mentoring.
