New Avenues for Youth is committed to supporting a workplace that honors, celebrates, and acknowledges our community’s powerful differences. Through our work here, we move together to support the wellbeing, care, and growth of youth in our community. We are committed to our workforce centering practices that support and encourage Black, Indigenous, people of color, people with disabilities, and people with non-dominant gender identities to grow and thrive.

We encourage Black, Indigenous, people of color, people with disabilities, and people with non-dominant gender identities who may not believe they meet all of the described qualifications to consider what they contribute to community, and apply.

Your New Role:

You are an ideal candidate for our Day Services Coordinator position if you enjoy building authentic relationships, naturally engage in collaborative problem-solving, and believe in the potential of every young person. Day Services Coordinators meet youth needs in the New Avenues Drop In Center and provide information to young people about available services through street outreach. They serve as point people for basic needs supports, helping young people: do their laundry; shop the resource closet for clothing, undergarments, shoes, and other basic needs items; access warm meals and snacks; access showers for hygiene care; access computers for virtual meetings or resource navigation; receive benefits coordination through mail stop services; get connected to other important New Avenues services that will lead to increased stability, including case management, housing or shelter, and recovery supports. This position is ultimately designed to facilitate access to resources, coordinate supports, and provide warm, inviting, safe spaces for youth participants.

Youth Centered – This work is grounded in positive youth development and motivational interviewing principles, which centers youth as the experts in their lives. It emphasizes culturally responsive approaches, understanding the impacts of trauma, and approaching work with empathy.
