Job Description

Purpose:

This Postdoctoral Researcher will lead interdisciplinary research projects at the interface of biophysics and soft-matter. 

Responsibilities:

  • Use immunology-related techniques, primary cell cultures, immunostaining, flow cytometry, qPCR/RT-qPCR, ELISA and western blot analysis

  • Use rheological techniques to characterize mechanical properties of bio-extracts, analyze data and prepare bimonthly research reports.

  • Mentor graduate students and work in teams. Perform extensive literature surveys and write manuscripts

  • Strictly adhere to BSL2 and COVID-19 safety protocols required by the University

  • Doctoral degree
  • No experience required

What is helpful:

  • Doctoral degree in Engineering or Physics disciplines or Cell biology/Immunology
  • Standard laboratory skills (pipetting, sterile techniques, preparing solutions)
  • Experience working with immune cells or mammalian cells
  • Experience with immunofluorescence and microscopy technique
  • LabVIEW VI development
  • Bulk and micro-rheology characterization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • This work requires standing at work bench for extended periods of time, dexterous use of both hands for experiments, and computer work (analysis, plotting, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills and be able to work within deadlines.

Work Location:

  • Main Campus - College Station, TX
  • Some positions may have potential for a flexible work schedule or location.
