Summary

The incumbent will focus on courier delivery/pickup of packaged prescription medications and supplies to/from the specialty pharmacy facility. The incumbent will provide supply chain logistics support for the specialty pharmacy and other areas within the Department of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities*

This 1.0 FTE courier will be responsible for efficiently performing day-to-day delivery duties catering to both specialty patients and supply chain support for the department of pharmacy sites.

Core functions:

  • Transfer packaged prescription medications to patient homes according to a prearranged schedule.
  • Provide face-to-face, friendly contact and service to customers.
  • Answer non-clinical questions from patients and direct clinical questions to appropriate team members.
  • May participate in the training of courier staff in the performance of procedures.
  • Accurately and reliably complete documentation involved in delivery of patient orders.
  • Complete quality assurance audits as directed per the specialty pharmacy department.
  • Operate all motor vehicles and handle all equipment in accordance with legal, regulatory, accreditation and University standards.
  • Participate in staffing during specialty pharmacy business hours, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0-3 years of experience in courier delivery service
  • Valid CDL with hazardous materials endorsement
  • Valid Michigan driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to lift packages weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Competency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
