The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for an Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology - Cirillo Lab team. The Postdoctoral Research Associate, under general supervision, will perform investigations related to infectious diseases projects. This position will focus on several ongoing projects in response to SARS-CoV-2, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens.

Required Education:

• Appropriate doctoral degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Technical laboratory skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• PhD, D.V.M. and/or M.D.

• Record of productive experience in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology of pathogens.

Responsibilities:

• Research: Individual will be primarily responsible for conducting independent research on SARS-CoV-2, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens and publication of results. Design, develop, and conduct research experiments. Responsible for evaluation, selection and application of standard techniques and procedures.

• Research Data: Collect, compile, organize and analyze data. Document, summarize, and interpret results. Maintain experimental records and documentation.

• Writing: Participate and assist with the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and publications of scientific data in peer-revised journals based on research.

• Collaboration: Attend laboratory meetings and departmental seminars. Interface with collaborators to advance projects. Participate in projects involving lab personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.
