Postdoctoral Research Associate Focus: Development of machine learning models for high entropy materials Description: The University of Tennessee has an opening of a postdoctoral position in developing machine learning models for high entropy materials. This position resides in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at the University of Tennessee (UT), as part of a multidisciplinary project aimed at developing new alloys and ceramics for extreme environment applications. The postdoctoral research associate will be supervised by Haixuan Xu and Eric Lass in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at UT and will work collaboratively with a team of faculty and students in MSE, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering, as well as scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The initial appointment is a temporary full-time assignment of 12 months with the possibility of extension for another two years.
Description
Desired Qualifications: Education: A PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required. The candidate is expected to have a record of productive research demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Communication: Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
