Position Summary

The Integrated Biomedical Imaging Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral research associate interested in developing novel hybrid noninvasive imaging systems for studying the pregnant uterus’s electrical maturation and mechanical changes. The goal of the lab is to develop tools to monitor pregnancy and labor progression and assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies to manage labor and prevent preterm birth. The lab uses innovative and cutting edge experimentation and relies heavily on bioinformatics and biomechanical systems engineering.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical research studies using MRI and Electrophysiological Tools.
  • Perform signal and image processing, inverse computation for the MRI and electrophysiological data.
  • Perform conventional statistical analysis and other duties as assigned.
  • Writing papers.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clear interest in biomedical imaging systems and bioengineering.
  • Strong background in signal and image processing.
  • Ability to write manuscripts and contribute to grant applications.
  • Training and expertise in engineering.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
