Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate-level Mathematics classes as assigned.
 

Master's degree in Mathematics (or related discipline)
 

Ph.D. in Mathematics (or similar discipline)

Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching mathematics

At least 10 years post-PhD professional experience

Expertise in extremal graph theory and forbidden poset theory

Experience in conference and workshop organization

 

The Department of Mathematics provides a vibrant intellectual environment and includes about 35 tenure-eligible faculty, 25 teaching faculty and postdoctoral associates, and 70 graduate students. The department offers undergraduate degrees, M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and a post-baccalaureate certificate program. The Department is housed in Carver Hall, whose naming in honor of George Washington Carver reflects the university’s long-standing commitment to diversity. As part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the department is strongly committed to serving all students with which it engages and advancing the frontiers of knowledge in both pure and applied mathematics as well as in a variety of interdisciplinary research programs.
