Posting Summary | TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal grant-funded program which serves low-income, first-generation college students, and students with a documented disability. The SSS program is charged to serve, engage, retain, and graduate participants. This program provides individual and group tutoring via professional and peer tutors (both directly and in partnership with the Rutgers-Camden Learning Center). In addition, TRiO SSS provides a structured first-year transition program for new participants (first-years and transfers), holistic advice, support, and coaching, financial literacy, educational workshops, graduate school and career counseling, and grant aid. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of TRiO Student Support Services (SSS), the Student Counselor (SC) provides direct academic and holistic student support services to a caseload of undergraduates in the TRiO SSS Program. The Student Counselor monitors the success of TRiO SSS students and tracks their progress toward degree completion. They develop, implement, and participate in programs and initiatives designed to support the success of TRiO SSS students. Collaboration with faculty and staff campus partners (e.g. Center for Learning and Student Success, academic advising offices, Financial Aid, Career Center, Learning Center, Disability Services, and other student affairs offices) on behalf of TRiO SSS students and in support of student success programming is an integral part of the Student Counselor responsibilities. |

Work Arrangement | Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose.
