Summary

Responsible, self-directed independent scientist recruited to direct projects within inflammation and hematopoiesis laboratory.  The instructor will carry out projects as directed by the PI while functioning largely independently in pursuing and troubleshooting methods, maintaining collaborations, and analyzing data. The instructor will seek out and apply for grants to support research projects. The instructor will supervise and direct the activities of research assistants and graduate students in the lab and is expected to teach them basic methods, responsible conduct in research, time management and organizational skills, data analysis techniques, and oral and written communication skills. The instructor will serve as a cohesive leader in the lab to promote an atmosphere of cooperation and productivity, scientific creativity, enthusiasm for discovery, and hard work.

 

Educational and training requirements:

 

Ph.D. in biomedical sciences

Minimum 4 years' work experience as a postdoctoral trainee
