SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a full-time Director of TRIO in Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Planning, the TRIO Director is responsible for the leadership of the TRIO Student Support Services program with specific emphasis on hiring and supervising program personnel, staff development, records management, budget management, student recruitment and orientation and program development. This position is responsible for supervising program staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate recruitment, identification, and selection of eligible students
Works with instructors and staff to design strategies for effective teaching and retention, Especially for students with academic needs
Designs and establishes procedures for use of student management information system
Establishes effective working relationships among the program staff, faculty, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Program students
Works with the Advisory Board on project development and evaluation
Coordinates the hiring of Coordinators, professional tutors, peer tutors
Administers the Student Support Services Program budget
Coordinates disbursement of SSS Supplemental grant money to eligible participants in conjunction with the Office of Financial Aid
Supervises program staff
Reports to and acts as liaison with the U.S. Department of Education regarding the full range of program goals, objectives, and activities
Participates in assessment of program activities
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education or related field
Demonstrated experience with strategies and interventions for working with students
Five years' experience with students including both teaching and program management and administration
Experience in relating with students, staff, faculty and administration
Special Information:

Additional Information:
Salary: $55,000
