Position Description:  Apply
The Wang Lab at Duke University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is hiring postdoctoral positions for projects involving two-dimensional materials deposition and etching technologies for advanced electronics. Our projects use chemical vapor techniques for electronic materials engineering, focusing on nanofabrication, particularly the atomic-precision growth, etching, and smoothing processes. As an example, one project involves large-scale production and atomic layer etching of MXene thin film to achieve pristine films and explore their macro-scale electrical performance using characterizations and machine learning.

We are seeking candidates who love doing science and have high problem-solving analysis skills. A strong interest in electrical engineering and materials science is critical, as well as motivation to learn new areas of electronic materials as needed. Helping you achieve your career goals is an important part of this position. This includes developing a mentoring plan that assesses the needs and goals of each postdoctoral researcher based on the background, interests, and needs of each trainee and identifying activities needed to reach them.

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Candidates that will contribute to diversity and with diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications: PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Candidates with multidisciplinary backgrounds are preferred. Proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Experimental skills in nanofabrication, especially chemical vapor deposition and atomic layer deposition. Understanding of quantitative tools, including machine learning. Willingness to learn new methods and adapt them as necessary. Excellent communication skills, with a knack for writing and publishing results. Ability to operate independently within collaborative settings. Mentoring skills and desire to work with students.
