Position Highlights | The Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Professional I to work in Dr. Shanna Hamilton’s research laboratory. The Hamilton lab studies mechanisms of calcium-dependent arrhythmia in models of both inherited and acquired heart disease, from molecule-cell-organ-organism level, with the goal of finding new therapeutic strategies to prevent arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. The researcher may be responsible for performing basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques in a laboratory including western blotting, cell culture, qPCR, and confocal microscopy. They will assist with animal husbandry and isolation of cardiac myocytes. They will also assist with laboratory management including ordering supplies, inventory of biological samples, and maintenance/training of instruments. Preferred Qualifications | * Prior UA research experience. * Rodent husbandry experience. * Biochemistry (western blot) experience. * Cell culture experience. * Experience with statistical analysis and preparation and curation of data for manuscripts. * 2-4 years of research laboratory experience. |
