Position Summary/Description:

The Division of Global Women's Health at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Research Assistant Professor. The successful candidate is expected to support and further develop a research portfolio in artificial intelligence solutions for global women's health priorities. The position will support multiple research projects by analyzing large clinical research datasets, including ultrasound and intrapartum sensor monitoring data, and developing original machine learning models and integrated applications to monitor women and infants during the antenatal, peripartum, and postnatal periods. The position requires an understanding of data engineering and machine learning methodologies, and expertise in designing experiments to evaluate the performance of different models and approaches to solving discrete problems.
The faculty member will be involved in developing data collection approaches and providing input on data quality control requirements. The faculty member will lead and contribute to analyses and manuscripts, collaborate in the development of new research proposals, and be encouraged to develop an independently funded research program in this area. Secondary responsibilities will include occasional mentoring for postdoctoral fellow and student work and academic projects, and may include occasional training of division data analysis unit team members.
