Summary of Job Duties:
This Post Doctoral Fellow position will oversee the initial phase of a research program associated with the development of a multi-wide-bandgap converter within a flying microgrid system. This position will perform integrated circuit design, simulation, and fabrication for utilization within a power electronics module; investigate the radiation tolerance of relevant electronics and associated components for use within a feasibility study; perform radiation testing of electronics and associated components; and oversee the thermo-mechanical modeling, motor lifetime modeling, electrical propulsion model development, and system level model for use in a hardware in the loop simulator (performed by associated graduate researchers).
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on integrated circuit design earned in the last three years conferred by the start of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with integrated circuit design and tapeout experience for power electronics applications
• Knowledge of radiation-hardening design techniques and how to simulate radiation tolerance of electronics within TCAD or similar software
• Experience testing electronics in radiation environments
• Experience with power electronics applications and voltage or current source converters

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:

$50,000 - $60,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
