    Position description

    Chang Lab – Assistant Professional Researcher
    Department of Cell & Tissue Biology
    UC San Francisco

    The Department of Cell & Tissue Biology is recruiting for an Assistant Professional Researcher in the Chang Lab (see https://www.fredchanglab.ucsf.edu ). The appointee will conduct a research program in quantitative cell biology, to study biophysical properties and mechanobiology of living cells. Project will focus on regulation of nuclear size in fission yeast and other cell types including mammalian cells. Approaches include microscopy, modeling, quantitative image analyses and yeast genetics.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Appointees in the Professional Research series must possess a doctorate or its equivalent in a biological or physical science (or related field).
    • 5+ years of postdoctoral or similar training.
    • Record of impactful first author publications and evidence of independent, creative, and rigorous research.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • History of potential to develop a sustained source of research funding.

    See Table 13B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $87,100-$113,900.
