Position Highlights The laboratories of Drs. Jennifer Carew and Steffan Nawrocki are seeking a talented postdoctoral research associate to join their team to pursue innovative projects focused on the development of novel anticancer agents. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and independent individual with an established track record of research achievement. Candidates must have a doctoral degree, first authored peer-reviewed original publications, and expertise in cancer biology, pharmacology, or molecular biology. Prior experience working with mouse models of cancer is required. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience evaluating the mechanisms of action and efficacy of experimental anticancer agents. Interested applicants should have extensive experience in biology, chemistry, and/or molecular and cellular biology techniques. The successful candidate will perform independent research utilizing techniques, and animal experiments using advanced methods and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and perform in vitro and in vivo assays to test novel therapeutic anticancer agents.
  • Investigate the mechanisms of action of novel therapeutic agents.
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • Scientific writing and presentation of data at scientific meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals. 
  • Knowledge of recent advancements in experimental anticancer agents.
  • Have extensive experience in biology, chemistry, and/or molecular and cellular biology techniques and the ability to perform independent research utilizing those techniques, and animal experiments using advanced methods and procedures. 
  • Extensive experience working with mouse models of cancer is necessary for success. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a doctoral degree and expertise in cancer biology, pharmacology, or molecular biology. 
  • One (1) or more years of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications *Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience evaluating the mechanisms of action and efficacy of experimental anticancer agents. *The preferred applicant will have first authored peer-reviewed original publications.
