Job Summary 

Perform research on plant development and evolutionary genomics under the supervision of the principal investigator. The appointee is expected to establish some independent in research design and execution, and to publish his/her work as appropriate in collaboration with the principle investigator.

Essential functions

  • Analysis of conserved non-coding sequence data in an evolutionary context
  • Design and generation of computational pipelines.
  • Generation and characterization of mutants in maize and brachypodium.
  • General molecular biology associated with genotyping and basic cloning.
  • Field and greenhouse work associated with maize and brachypodium genetics.
  • Mentoring undergraduate researchers.
  • Writing papers and grant applications with this work.

Minimum qualifications(Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • 1-2 years experience studying plant genomics desirable

Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5pm

Salary information

Salary will follow the current Umass guidelines for postdoctoral fellows

$52,024.00 annual FTE
