Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. The Adjunct Faculty/Nursing Clinical will supervise patient care provided by students (usually 6 to 8 students in a group) while students complete their clinical rotation in their area of specialty. The ideal candidate will coordinate with clinicians at the clinical site on student/ patient assignments, teach students how to perform duties/skills in the clinical site, facilitate the development of critical thinking, and be available in the clinical area for student questions. The incumbent will also evaluate students' clinical work and provide written & verbal feedback. Communicating with Clinical Coordinators regarding students' progress and attending required hospital orientation programs are additional responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Nursing, a license as an RN in the state of New York, and have at least two years of clinical experience. A ten (10) point drug screen as well as receipt of the Influenza Vaccine annually is required. Current or past clinical experience in Behavior Health is also required.
SALARY & BENEFITS: $82.57 per hour. No benefits.
