Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher with Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related background. The successful candidate will join our research team and contribute to ongoing projects aimed at developing high-throughput diagnostic assay automation and SAR-CoV-2 research. 

 

Responsibilities:

Genomic, Transcriptomic, and Proteomic Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets using open source software tools. Apply bioinformatics algorithms and statistical methods to interpret and visualize large-scale omics data, identify differentially expressed genes, predict protein-protein interactions, and assess functional enrichment. Sequence Analysis and Bioinformatics: Conduct sequence analysis tasks including sequence alignment, variant calling, annotation, and functional prediction. Utilize bioinformatics tools and pipelines to extract relevant information from genomic and transcriptomic data. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of genomics and bioinformatics. Real-time PCR and Primer Design: Design and optimize primer sets for real-time PCR experiments, and perform qPCR experiments to validate gene expression patterns. Analyze qPCR data using appropriate statistical methods and contribute to the interpretation of experimental results. Statistical Software and Data Analysis: Utilize statistical software packages such as SAS and R to perform advanced statistical analyses on experimental data, including data normalization, regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and multivariate analysis. Implement robust statistical models and develop novel approaches to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. Excel Macros and Automation: Develop Excel macros and automation scripts to streamline data processing and analysis workflows. Design and implement data templates and standardized procedures to facilitate data sharing and collaboration within the research team. Utilize bio-rendering software (e.g., BioRender) or associated software to generate high-quality figures and illustrations for scientific publications and presentations.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with real-time PCR, primer design, and qPCR data analysis .
  • Experience in genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analysis using open source software tools.
  • Experience with database management software for efficient data organization and retrieval.
  • Experience utilizing sequence analysis methods and bioinformatics tools.
