Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The hired individual will tasked with leading and contributing to research projects towards the following capacities: Creating software tools to store, manage, interpret, and analyze microbial genomic and metagenomic data. Create new or utilize available algorisms and analysis pipelines for the real-time identification and characterization of infectious pathogens in clinical diagnostic samples. Analyze large data bases, like NCBI, to curate and extract sequences to research questions.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Computer science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with prokaryotes, viruses, microbiology, phylogeny and sequence typing.
Experience with peer-reviewed publications.
Proposed Start Date:
September 1, 2023
Proposed End Date or Length of Term:
August 31, 2024
