Position Summary

A postdoctoral Research Associate position supported by MSU Strategic Partnership and Global Impact Initiative is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dohun Pyeon (http://www.pyeonlab.org/ ) at Michigan State University. Our research group is uniquely positioned to carry out basic and translational cancer research using combined approaches with patient specimens, unique mouse models, in vitro cell culture systems, recombinant virus production, genome-wide CRISPR and small molecule screens, and single-cell analyses.

Successful candidates will lead a project to investigate virus-driven cancer immune evasion mechanisms and develop novel cancer immunotherapy by targeting newly discovered immune regulators. Candidates must have a recent Ph.D. degree in a related field along with lead-author publications in top-tier journals, excellent communication and organization skills, and the ability to work independently within a research team. Candidates who pursue an independent career path are highly preferred. Expertise in cancer immunology, drug development, and/or mouse models is also desirable. We will provide a competitive salary at the NIH postdoctoral stipend level, excellent benefits, and one-on-one mentoring for a successful research career.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position with reappointment contingent on satisfactory performance and available funding.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in cancer biology, immunology, cell biology, virology, or related fields and lead-author publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.


Desired Qualifications

Expertise in cancer immunology, genetic/drug screening and development, mouse work, high-resolution microscopy, and/or bioinformatics is desired.
