Job Overview

The Manager of Donor Relations of Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation (Foundation) manage a best-in-class Acknowledgment Process for donor gifts made to the Foundation, draft donor acknowledgments, and content for other donor stewardship communications. This role will serve as the lead for developing impact reports for major and principal gift donors. This position reports the Director of Donor Relations.

Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position, with no direct supervisory duties. Qualified for benefit choices.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: BA/BS undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required. No equivalency.

Seeking at least 3 to 5 years of work experience. Preferably in a non-profit organization and with experience related to donor relations, stewardship, or at a large and complex organization. The Manager, Donor Relations will have the following experience and abilities:

Responsibilities

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

1) Manager the Foundation's centralized Donation Acknowledgment Process at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation:
  • Write and coordinate timely distribution of acknowledgment letters, emails, and call scripts in alignment with the Foundation’s centralized Acknowledgement Process, including but not limited to letters from the
Hospital and Foundation executives and Chairs of the Hospital and Foundation Boards.
  • Produce tribute notifications in response to donations made in honor/memory of individuals.
  • Upload and track acknowledgments in the Foundation’s constituent database, (Blackbaud CRM).

2) Oversee and develop giving society data tracking and welcome correspondence:
  • Draft and follow internal review process before and distribution of timely welcome materials to donors to the Foundation’s giving societies as they qualify.
  • Upload and track giving society member communications in the Foundation’s constituent database, Blackbaud CRM.
  • Track giving society memberships in Blackbaud CRM, reviewing regularly to maintain accuracy in both the database and publicized lists in collaboration with other Foundation team members.

3) Contribute to the development of impact reports:
  • Write impact reports that steward major donors and demonstrate ROI on philanthropic gifts.
  • Write impact reports for fundraising priorities in alignment with the Foundation Strategy Group.

4) Serve as the platform manager for Mythos:
  • Lead implementation process for activating new platform in partnership with Director of Donor Relations.
  • Collect, edit, and manage content for publishing personal, relevant, and engaging story-based communications.
  • Develop and lead training for other Foundation team members as needed

5) Individualized Stewardship:
  • Serve as stewardship liaison to members of field staff.
  • Work with assigned Philanthropy Directors to identify stewardship needs for their portfolios and execute different stewardship activities, examples include: written impact reports, crafting gratitude messages from
President and CEO and crafting social media posts.
  • Execute individualized stewardship projects for strategically identified donors.

6) Regularly update stewardship language on gift receipts in partnership with Marketing Communications and Gift Service groups, regularly draft language for donor receipts for gifts of all levels and designations that aligns with messaging and campaigns.

7) Write special donor correspondence as directed by senior leadership:
  • Draft correspondence to donors for Foundation executives and Prospect Managers for special circumstances, i.e., $1M+ gifts, milestone birthdays, giving anniversaries, special stewardship occasions, etc.
  • Upload and track special donor correspondence in the Foundation’s constituent database, Blackbaud CRM.

8) Other duties as assigned, will include administrative support for Donor Relations Business Unit as identified by Director of Donor Relations.

9) Participate and engage in required Children's Colorado, Hospital and Foundation trainings, including system wide competency expectations (like Cornerstone and as assigned).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively work and communicate with a diverse group of constituents.
  • Ability to successfully demonstrate and use MS Office products in daily work
  • Experience with CRM systems preferred and familiarity with Blackbaud CRM a plus

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $67,000.00 to $91,000.00
Hourly Salary Range: $32.21 to $43.75
