Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Center of Survey Statistics and Methodology (https://www.cssm.iastate.edu/) at College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Iowa State University is seeking one Postdoctoral Research Associate for NSF and other research projects. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with Dr. Zhengyuan Zhu and an interdisciplinary team of researchers on global urbanization, energy use modeling, and land cover/use change detection.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in one or more relevant disciplines, such as geography, environmental sciences, meteorology, geoscience, landscape ecology, agriculture sciences or related fields. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in remote sensing, geospatial data analysis, and large data processing languages/environments such as R and MATLAB is preferred.  
  • A solid programming background is ideal, preferably with some formal training. 
  • Research experience in building energy use studies.
  • Received degree in one or more relevant disciplines (such as geography, environmental sciences, meteorology, geoscience, landscape ecology, agriculture sciences or related fields) in the last 5 years.
