Position Highlights

The Department of Immunobiology is seeking highly motivated applicants for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to be co-mentored by Drs. Koenraad Van Doorslaer and Michael Kuhns. These challenging positions require a high level of enthusiasm, dedication, and drive for applicants interested in conducting evolutionary guided research into the molecular mechanisms of T-Cell activation and cell fate decisions (pubmed search: Van Doorslaer K, Kuhns MS).

Located in beautiful Tucson, the University of Arizona College of Medicine (UA CoM) was established in 1967 and has 22 departments, five basic science and 17 clinical science, along with 10 Centers of Excellence, dedicated to specific areas of research, clinical care and teaching.

The Department of Immunobiology at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine is growing into a nationally and internationally recognized research and educational center. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent experiments and computational analysis, evaluate the data, and keep appropriate records of all research activities.
  • Read the literature, participate in scientific discussions with other members of the lab, and attend mandatory lab meetings.
  • Perform assigned lab duties to assist in the maintenance of stock reagents or the general operation of the lab, and various other duties or projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, immunology, virology, or related fields.
  • Experience with modern molecular biology, biochemistry, and tissue culture techniques.
  • Basic Immunological concepts.
Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience with live cell fluorescent imaging is helpful.
* Being proficient in Python, R, and/or command line applications is encouraged.
