What We Want
The Powers Laboratory invites applications for a funded post-doctoral position in synthetic inorganic chemistry and in crystallo synthesis. Specific goals of the projects are in the areas of catalytic small molecule conversion and in isolation of reactive catalytic intermediates. Successful applicants will have expertise in air-free synthesis, X-ray crystallography, characterization of paramagnetic compounds, electrochemistry, or similar areas and will join a vibrant and diverse research team tackling problems at the forefront of chemical synthesis. What You Need to Know
Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.
Work Schedule: Able to work nights and weekend hours as needed
Required Education and Experience:
Appropriate PhD
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in air-free synthesis, X-ray crystallography, characterization of paramagnetic compounds, electrochemistry, or similar areas
Ability to cultivate and maintain professional working relationships with people from various backgrounds tackling problems at the forefront of chemical synthesis
Responsibilities:
Project Coordination: Performs experimental laboratory research in synthetic inorganic chemistry and in crystallo synthesis. Specific goals of the project are in the areas of catalytic small molecule conversion and in insolation of reactive catalytic intermediates.
Organizational Compliance and Safety: Attends Scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement. Stays up to date on scientific research via reading of literature. Assists other researchers in the group. Maintains safe working conditions and acts as a mentor.
Scientific: Participates in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings, preparing manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations, and grant proposals.
Professional Development: Makes presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues and performs other duties as assigned.
