About the position

Position open for Postdoctoral Fellow to work with Dr. Tiago Colicchio in the Informatics Institute (Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science).

Dr. Colicchio�s research focuses on the construction of patient-specific knowledge bases derived from data in patients� electronic health records (EHRs), and evaluating the use of these knowledge bases for improving EHR design and accuracy of clinical decision support (CDS) alerts to mitigate alert fatigue.

We are recruiting a self-motivated postdoctoral fellow with strong clinical informatics skills. An ideal candidate for this position will possess a background in electronic health records, clinical decision support systems, emerging CDS standards and data models (HL7 FHIR, CDS Hooks, CQL, OMOP) or ontologies and clinical vocabularies. As a postdoctoral fellow, the candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop or improve algorithms for preprocessing patients� health records within and outside the institution and will lead data collection and analysis for usability and other formal evaluations of clinical informatics systems. Candidates should have high quality research experience in at least one of these research areas as evidenced by first-author publication(s) in premier peer-reviewed informatics journals.

Salary Range: Base pay is commensurate with experience.
