Position Highlights

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the area of cancer genomics, systems biology, and regulatory networks in the Padi lab (https://www.padilab.com) in the Dept. of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. We study the regulatory networks underlying cellular plasticity in Merkel cell carcinoma, a neuroendocrine skin cancer. Through a combination of systems/genomics experiments and computational approaches, we aim to identify new therapeutic strategies for neuroendocrine tumors.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • We are looking for motivated individuals who want to apply their quantitative skills to tackle important problems in biology, or who have experience with mammalian cell culture and want to expand into bioinformatics.
  • The Padi Lab frequently interacts with core faculty in Systems and Computational Biology at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and with multiple data science and ‘omics initiatives across campus. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. degree in physics, computer science, biology, systems/computational biology, mathematics, or a related field is required. All but dissertation (ABD).
  • The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic programming experience (e.g. R, Python, Matlab, or C++) is preferred.
  • Experience in Genomics and Bioinformatics.
