Summary

We are looking for a part-time staff scientist to join the Lee lab to support the lab in two efforts: supporting data analysis and sharing requirements related to our RE-JOIN projects, and coordinating Zebrafish experiments in the lab. Experience in confocal imaging and lightsheet fluorescence microscopy is essential, and expertise in post-acquisition image analysis (IMARIS, AMIRA, Arivis, ImageJ/Fiji, Neurolucida, etc.) is highly desirable. A background in zebrafish genetics is essential. In addition, the staff scientist will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with RE-JOIN’s data coordination group and ensuring that all generated data adheres to the consortium’s data and metadata standards.


Job Duties
  • Plans, directs, and conducts 3D-imaging data analysis of the knee
  • Evaluates and analyzes 3D-imaging data sets
  • Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigator
  • Supports RE-JOIN-related data uploads to Penssieve
  • Ensures RE-JOIN data adheres to consortium-set data and metadata standards
  • Zebrafish-related experiments
  • Plans, directs, and conducts zebrafish experiments
  • Evaluates and analyzes data obtained through zebrafish experiments
  • Documents results of zebrafish experiments and reports to principal investigator
  • Teaches investigators how to plan and conduct zebrafish experiments
  • Supervises, coordinates, and trains less-experienced research staff in conducting zebrafish experiments

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Seven years of postdoctoral  research experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of experience with zebrafish genetics
  • Experience with bioinformatics
