Posting Summary
Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a full time Mental Health Clinician III at Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The Mental Health Clinician III participates in the clinical needs assessment of adult inmates/patients sentenced to the Department of Corrections.
  • Arrives at diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of the evaluation session.
  • Develops treatment plans.
  • Makes clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment, as well as preferred treatment modality.
  • Assesses and makes referrals for higher levels of care, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates competency in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adults and seniors.
  • Skilled in providing group and individual therapies.
  • Demonstrates competency in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates/patients.
  • Provides individual assessment, as clinically indicated to assigned inmates/patients.
  • Provides case administration services which include the development and implementation of treatment plans for assigned inmates/patients and ongoing assessments and release/discharge planning.
  • Maintains appropriate inmate/patient clinical records in a timely manner, as mandated by RBHS policy.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field.
  • Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of this unit of Rutgers-University Correctional Health Care.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and initiative in support of overall unit mission.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
* Master’s Degree in Social Work or directly related mental health discipline.
Certifications/Licenses
* Licensure in Social Work (LSW) is required.
* Valid driver’s license
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
* Preference will be given to applicants with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
