Job Summary


The Senior Global Director leads a global team responsible for attracting and yielding Chicago Booth’s world-class Executive MBA entering class each year. The incumbent will play a significant role in assessing the evolving global EMBA marketplace and will help define the direction for Booth’s Executive MBA in the future.

Responsibilities include oversight of global market intelligence processes including competitor benchmarking, and defining and overseeing the resulting marketing, recruiting, and admissions strategy across the three regional admissions teams located in Chicago, London, and Hong Kong, as well as the global EMBA marketing team. The Senior Global Director will champion the team in creating innovative recruitment, global outreach, and strategic communications to ensure this program offers best-in-class global admissions, recruitment, and marketing processes. Program content, features, and format will be informed by the team’s market insights to deliver an EMBA Program that will appeal to a global audience and meet / exceed expectations of our students.

The Senior Global Director is part of the Executive MBA Program Leadership Team and as such is involved in strategic matters impacting the Program. These might involve input into curricular offerings and program design and entail interactions with the Deputy Dean, the EMBA Academic Coordinator, faculty, and other Booth leadership.

The Senior Global Director leads and manages a 16-person team: four senior direct reports, who in turn manage global teams of twelve total. Position is based in Chicago.

 
Responsibilities
  • As a member of the Executive MBA Program Leadership, the Senior Global Director is involved in decisions pertaining to the EMBA Program’s strategic direction and all programmatic processes.
  • Functions as Associate Dean’s Number 2 and deputizes for the Associate Dean as needed.
  • Attracts, develops, and retains a world-class global team. Manages team both at the holistic global level and at the regional levels.
  • Supports the regional Admissions Directors to define the global strategy to attract and yield three outstanding regional cohorts of students who meet agreed-upon quality metrics and student population targets. This includes the strategy for pipeline management, scholarship awards, a media engagement strategy, a strategy around the global EMBA rankings, engaging faculty in the recruiting process, and pursuing corporate sponsorships.
  • Supports the Director of Global Marketing and Communications to collaborate with the Chicago Booth Marketing team to develop and implement marketing and communications plans that are aligned with the overall Chicago Booth brand.
  • With the Associate Dean and other Booth leaders, sets global assessment criteria, including strategies to maintain and improve the diversity of each regional cohort. Participates in the review of applications.
  • Ensures that cross-market processes are compatible, streamlined, and synchronized globally, while taking regional nuances into consideration and that they are aligned with the academic and co-curricular offerings.
  • Provides financial oversight of global and regional marketing activity and global scholarship strategy and budget. Monitors and adjusts to achieve appropriate cost of acquisition. Measures impact on yield.
  • Oversees data analysis to track trends and ensures that marketing and admissions messaging and criteria are aligned with student experience.
  • The incumbent will also work closely with the EMBA Student Life & Program Operations, Global Career and Leadership Development, and Employer Relations teams to understand these functions and their engagement with the overall EMBA Program.
  • With the EMBA Associate Dean, the incumbent will also work closely with the Associate Dean, Recruitment and Admissions for Booth’s Full-time, Evening, and Weekend Programs; the Chicago Booth Chief Marketing and Communications Officer; and the Associate Dean for Executive Education (Booth’s non-degree offerings).
  • Oversees planning and execution of public presentations, special events, and other recruitment activities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with all organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. Develops and monitors the admissions budget.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 10+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:
  • Master's degree in business, student services, or educational administration.
  • MBA.
 
Experience:
  • A minimum ten years of global strategy, marketing, and/or recruitment experience.
  • A minimum ten years of experience working in a university environment.
  • Global experience.
 
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database management.
  • Technolutions Slate experience.

Working Conditions
  • This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
  • Work long hours, early mornings, late evenings, to lead and join global meetings.
  • Enthusiasm for global travel.
