Position:                      Business/Economics Instructor

Compensation:           Based on JC salary structure for full-time employment

Job Description:         
  • Provide lecture and instruction in business and economics courses.
  • Be able to work comfortably with computers and technology utilized in course content and delivery.
  • Be a competent scholar in the area of instruction by continually improving relevant skills and knowledge, including following college professional development requirements.
  • Must be willing to teach day, evening, off-campus, online, hybrid, and summer courses using lecture and other methods of instructional delivery, including meeting with students during posted office hours.
  • Prepare reports and other student performance/attendance records in accordance with college requirements.
  • Serve as an academic advisor for students pursuing degrees in business and/or economics in accordance with college advisement policies.
  • Participate in outreach and other recruitment activities to sustain and increase the number of students pursuing business-related careers.
  • Be an active participant in campus activities that enrich the collegiate atmosphere.
 
Qualifications:            
MINIMUM - A master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in business and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in economics. Must be able to demonstrate mastery of instructional software and online instruction.
 
PREFERRED - MBA with 18 graduate hours of economics or a master’s degree with 18 MBA hours along with 18 graduate hours in Economics. Additional graduate hours in business/economics and teaching experience will be considered as well as experience.
