Postdoctoral Researcher

University of Chicago

Job Description

We are recruiting motivated postdoctoral research scientists to join our team at the University of Chicago (https://www.uchicago.edu/research/) to study physiological and pathophysiological functions of RNA post-transcriptional modifications in the mammalian system. Our recent research focuses on the roles of N6-adenomethylation (m6A) of RNA in the regulation of innate immunity, mucosal inflammation and gut epithelial homeostasis (Recent publications: Du et al, Developmental Cell, 2022, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35917813/; Du et al, Developmental Cell, 2020, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33220174/). Our research employs new experimental approaches such as genetic mouse models (conditional knockout), global bioinformatics (scRNA-seq, RIP-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq and CLIP-seq), metabolomics, and 3D organoid cultures. Successful applicants should have a Ph.D or M.D/Ph.D degree with strong lab experiences. Preferences will be given to candidates with background and research experiences in mucosal biology, immunology, metabolism or molecular biology. Potential candidates should be able to handle multiple tasks and capable of working independently and collaboratively in a research group. Interested applicants should email a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for 2-3 references to Dr. Li at cyan@bsd.uchicago.edu.
