Department Summary
The Department of Marketing is a highly regarded, nationally ranked academic unit within the G. Brint Ryan College of Business. The Department is located in a state-of-the-art Gold LEED-certified $70 million facility named the Business Leadership Building . The Ryan College is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Department comprises tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenured faculty with wide-ranging research and teaching interests and accolades. The Department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees, serving U.S. and international students. Marketing is one of the most popular majors and minors at the University of North Texas – Denton, the flagship university of the UNT System. The Department offers an environment supporting faculty research, teaching, and laboratories in behavioral research, modeling, and simulation.

Position Summary
The University of North Texas (UNT), College of Business Department of Marketing and Logistics invites applications for a Non-tenure track Lecturer position in Marketing. We seek an individual with substantial background in the Marketing discipline, with the ability and experience to teach undergraduate courses. The marketing discipline experience could be in any areas related to the marketing profession (examples may include, but are not limited to, retail business to consumer, business to business, business to government, new product development, international, etc.). Duties will include teaching undergraduate courses in multiple areas of marketing, curriculum and course development, service to the Department, University and community, and maintaining accreditation required of UNT.

 

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s or higher degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Marketing, Business or closely related field. Recent significant professional, technical, or managerial experience in the discipline related to the teaching assignment; at a minimum, significant experience is interpreted as at least five years of duties and responsibilities. Examples of effective communication (both written and oral), team building, and collegiality should also be provided.

 

Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will be qualified for appointment at the rank of Lecturer and possess a minimum of Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing or a master’s degree in a related field.
Extensive work experience in Marketing or a related business field at a senior executive level is highly preferred. Extensive work experience is interpreted as at least 10 years of duties and responsibilities. Additional preferred qualifications include teaching experience at the college level, and/or a strong background presenting in intercompany/intracompany settings or professional seminars. Professional association memberships, awards and certifications will be a plus.
