The Tomanik lab in the Chemistry Department of NYU is seeking to recruit two postdoctoral associates interested in working on synthesis of complex natural products or new methodology development.

 

Applicants should be within a few months of completing their doctoral degree, or hold a PhD in chemistry or in a closely related field.  The ideal candidate will have research experience in organic methodology, total synthesis, or chemical biology.  As our lab opens in July 2023, so this position will provide a unique opportunity for the candidate to work closely with the PI to shape and develop projects, with tremendous room for growth. The candidate will also help with mentorship and training graduate and undergraduate students.

 

The terms of employment, which would be 1 – 2 years, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits (including access to subsidized NYU housing in NYC). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.  The candidate would be fully supported by current funding, and the start date could be immediate if necessary.

 

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500–$58,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
