Senior Citizens Council is a nonprofit organization whose programs promote independence and improvement in the quality of life for our clients. We seek to prevent or end abuse, neglect and exploitation of at-risk seniors and adults with disabilities.
General Responsibilities
Perform professional level financial services to clients of the Guardianship Diversion and Guardianship/Conservatorship Programs. Additionally, this position supports as needed in the preparation and filing of, when appropriate, annual guardian reports and conservator accountings as well as Representative Payee Reports.
Specific Responsibilities
· Supervise and support staff in their assistance to clients in their application and qualification for entitlement programs.
· Apply for Veterans Affairs benefits, Railroad Retirement, Civil Service and Teamsters benefits etc. as appropriate. (On behalf of clients) Complete all required Payee reports.
· Work with bank to open Payee, Guardian, Conservator, Estate, and Trust accounts as needed and with the Executive Director’s approval.
· Ensure client bills are paid and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
· Maintain detailed records of all receipts and expenditures for all client assets.
· Represent agency in the community as assigned by the Executive Director.
· Limited Case management and care monitoring to maintain professional certifications.
· Comply with all reporting requirements of funders as assigned by Executive Director.
· Maintain security of all client’s personal data and use caution to destroy said data when data becomes obsolete.
Qualifications
· Demonstrated good written and verbal skills.
· Good organizational and documentation skills.
· 1 year Case management experience.
· Knowledge of community resources and ability to cooperate, communicate and coordinate with social service agencies, care providers and family/support systems of the clients.
· Computer knowledge and working experience with Office Word and Excel.
· Knowledge of aging issues and experience with or training in mental health issues.
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
· Understanding of Guardianship, Conservatorship and Rep-payee requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
· Degree in Social Work and\or Business
· Previous management responsibilities
· Legal knowledge and background.
· Master’s Degree in Business
