Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Information Technology - Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington - Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington. Job Description

Duties include working with counselors, across campus staff, faculty, students and the public. Answers general questions regarding processes to enroll in college, questions about Running Start, advising, registration, college programs, placement testing and general college information.

Duties and Responsibilities

Works independently. Maintains multiple spreadsheets that are essential to Advising Counseling and Running Start. The spreadsheets provide statistical data essential to Advising Counseling Center and to provide information for the Board of Trustees monthly report. Serves as the primary contact for the front desk in the Advising Counseling Center. Maintains Advising email and Running Start email.

Serves as a lead to student employees and assists with training and providing work to student employees.

Schedules appointments and meetings of several types of categories; for counselors, the Dean of Student Success, the Multi-Cultural Outreach Specialist, the W F West Assistant Director, and the Program Support Supervisor II.

Receives and maintains Advising Counseling Center office supplies.

Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent

AND

Two years of full-time clerical experience

OR

Equivalent education/experience.

Must know Microsoft suite

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of multiple types of Centralia College software platforms such as CTCLink and HPUX.

Conditions of Employment

This is a 15 hours per week year round position. Classified employees are represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).

DEADLINE: This position close June 25, 2023. The screening committee will begin their review June 26, 2023.

COMPENSATION
Monthly Salary: Range 35 ($1,083.75 - $1,400.25)
