Responsibilities*

This position will report to the Facilities Manager and provide support for facilities and maintenance issues. Primary support will be to the Walgreen Drama Center (WDC), Stamps Auditorium and the Stearns Building and their occupants. Other buildings that may require similar or backup support are the Moore Building, Dance Building and Burton Tower. This position is based out of the Walgreen Drama Center.

  • Perform daily inspection of Walgreen Drama Center/Stamps Auditorium and Stearns buildings. Including classroom maintenance checks.
  • Monitor TeamDynamix facilities ticketing system daily and ensure tickets assigned are kept up to date.
  • Manage F&O work orders. Call in and / or submit work orders online to Facilities & Operations. Ensure all work orders are completed.
  • Work in collaboration with other SMTD departments and assist with facility needs for special events including reserving and arranging tables, chairs and other equipment, typically working independently.
  • Assist with safety inspections and emergency response including as a member of the BIRT team.
  • Assist with preparing office space for new hires and office moves.
  • Prepare Declaration of Surplus forms and schedule property disposition runs.
  • Process key requests. Including preparing key forms and picking up keys from U-M Key Office.
  • Ensure that basic office and kitchen supplies are ordered and stocked.
  • Pull and return risers in the Towsley and Newman studios as needed.
  • Coordinate and / or assist with facilities projects. Including projects with Construction Services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work in collaboration with the Facilities Manager and rest of Facilities team to improve processes and procedures that will positively impact the School and this position.

Required Qualifications*

  • 1-2  years previous work experience in facilities operations or administrative experience in a customer service-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Forms).
  • Superior customer service skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be organized and have the ability to multi-task with competing demands/deadlines and have a positive attitude.
  • This position may involve traveling to various locations on campus to conduct business and deliver materials via University vehicle or University bus system. Must be able to pass Annual U-M Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • This position routinely transports boxes across campus weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Proven ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking while trying to find solutions to situations that arise suddenly. Ability to think clearly and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Experience with TeamDynamix is preferred.
  • Experience with M Marketsite ordering is preferred.
  • Experience with Facilities & Operations AiM is preferred.
  • Experience with ASIMUT scheduling is preferred.

Work Schedule

Shift/Hours/Days: Day shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday 

This position may require flex scheduling to support events. The duties are performed on-site and in person.
