Responsibilities*

  • Assist team of researchers with collection, processing, and analysis of mouse and human specimens for laboratory research.
  • Assist with several assays already performed in the lab including, but not limited to, enzyme-linked immunoassay, quantitative PCR, western blot, immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.
  • Assist laboratory staff in completion of mouse experiments including drug injections, weights, mouse dissection and organ harvesting.
  • Assist laboratory staff with daily lab tasks such as reagent ordering, sample labeling, and organization.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in sciences or equivalent work experience, including relevant undergraduate and graduate student experience
  • Prior laboratory experience is required and can include undergraduate research experience.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot problems in the lab.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
