The Moini Lab in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University is searching for postdoctoral or more senior research candidates in one or more of the following areas: fracture mechanics of construction materials, architected and bio-inspired materials, additive and robotic manufacturing, and advanced materials processing. Strong background in one or more of the following areas is required: cementitious materials, fracture mechanics, and computational mechanics, and inorganic chemistry. Previous background in experimental or computational research is a plus. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to lead research projects. The research will be conducted under the direction of Professor Reza Moini. Successful candidates will collaborate with other members of the lab supporting other research projects and to work on several projects funded by National Science Foundation and other agencies. We seek candidates with expertise in some of the following: experimental and computation fracture mechanics of cementitious materials (DIC, FEA, etc), cementitious materials chemistry and characterization techniques (SEM, micro-CT, Calorimetry, etc), experimental or computational skills in fresh and hardened properties of additive manufacturing with construction materials. Candidates must have or expect to have a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field including but not limited to civil engineering, material science, or mechanical engineering and strong commitment to interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. Selected candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in grant-writing, work in the state-of-the-art materials additive manufacturing and characterization laboratories, and to work in collaborative, supportive and inclusive interdisciplinary research environment.
