JOB TITLE: Faculty - Nursing - ADN Critical Care/Management Clinicals (1 position – Part-Time)

REPORTS TO: Dean of the School of Health Sciences

CLASSIFICATION: Faculty

FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Part-time faculty member to teach in an Associate Degree program for the respective discipline.

The pay for Part-Time Clinical Faculty is $50.00/hour.

Part-time position: Provide clinical instruction in a Critical Care unit and Management Clinicals on a Medical-Surgical unit for students in the second year of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:

Master’s degree in Nursing and current RN licensure in PA required. Teaching and/or recent professional nursing experience in critical care. Medical-surgical experience preferred.

Knowledge of:

Principles and practices within their discipline.

College procedures and regulations.

Laws and regulations related to their discipline.

PC and related software.

Ability to:

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Operate a PC and related software.

Maintain effective working relationships with other people.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for 6 – 7 hours. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to bend and squat. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The employee occasionally works in evenings or on weekends. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
