The basics of this position:

This position involves multitasking over a large variety of responsibilities including managing all aspects of the educational outreach activities of the Center for Plant and Life Sciences including on- and off-site events and summer teacher workshops and K-12+ student camps, as well as assisting in the operation of the Center. The successful candidate will promote the Center and St. Louis Community College by attending local area networking and workshop events, seeking and expanding existing partnerships with community groups and industry partners, managing and creating content for Center outreach social media accounts, producing and updating flyers, newsletters, etc. promoting the educational activities of the Center, and networking with local school districts for new event opportunities.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinates direct professional services to students and clients relating to a specific project area, i.e. counseling training, job development, vocational assessment, or accounting.

    Develops materials and procedures to ensure effectiveness of project personnel.

    Serves on committees.

    Maintains contact with professionals in other areas to facilitate referrals and problem resolution.

    Performs normal supervisory functions: trains, instructs, assigns work to Project personnel; recommends transfers, promotions, wage increases, terminations; arranges for additional help or overtime; explains and enforces College policies, safety rules and regulations. Evaluates performance.

    Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and over three (3) years of relevant full-time
experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in K-12, Science, Science Communication, or Agricultural Education and three (3) years relevant, full-time experience.
