Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The SBLF Program Coordinator will lead retention and engagement efforts for SBLF students, including coordinating daily operations; overseeing program social media efforts; planning extracurricular events, orientations, and student communications; advising students and student organizations; and assisting the program staff and faculty as needed. Some evening and weekend work is required. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director for Smith Fellows Programs.
Bachelorís degree required.
A minimum of two years of experience working with students in a role related to student retention, student advising, and/or student programming.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, teamwork, customer service, and communication skills with a student-centric mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of students, administration, faculty, staff, and other constituents and colleagues.
- Ability to handle challenging situations; high levels of self-directedness, flexibility, and proactive orientation; willingness to speak up and offer novel ideas for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the SBLF Program.
