Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant at the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM).
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Temporary Research Assistant will be responsible for data analysis and code management in two projects: 1) a study on the effects of cross-feeding interactions and nutrient limitation on mutations in E. coli; 2) a study of how different protein chaperones affect the spectrum of spontaneous mutations in E. coli.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Analyzes TnSeq data from transposon-insertion mutant libraries and BarSeq data from high-throughput fitness measurements of those libraries. 
  • Analyzes whole-genome sequencing data from an evolution experiment comparing different protein chaperones. 
  • Develops and maintains code for both data analysis projects. 
  • Prepares publication-quality data, panels and figures. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in a biological discipline.
  • Coding experience in general and analysis of high-throughput sequencing data in particular.

  • The candidate is expected to be proficient in spoken and written English.

Immunization Requirements
