The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology in the Department of Medicine, Columbia University, is inviting applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in the Sykes lab. The PDRS will be the leading researcher conducting immunological assays on transplant patients. PDRS will also provide one-on-one training to students, technicians and other postdoctoral researchers.

PDRS will devote 100% of time to research in the Sykes laboratory conducting advanced cellular assays, multiparameter spectral flow cytometric analysis, FACS sorting, DNA extraction, genotyping, high throughput sequencing, transcriptomics and analysis of large data sets.  Candidate will also carry out standard molecular techniques including DNA isolation as well as immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining and imaging.  PDRS will provide one-on-one training to students, technicians and other postdoctoral researchers. 

In addition to a minimum of a Doctoral degree in Biology, Immunology or similar, candidate ideally will have at least 2 years of high-volume experience performing advanced cellular assays, FACS sorting, DNA extraction, high throughput sequencing and analysis of large data sets, knowledge of radiation safety requirements, reagent titration, database and aliquot distribution of the same.  Candidate must have the ability to communicate with and train lab staff.
