The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and the Institute for Business in Society  invite applications for a post-doctoral Research Associate position beginning in July 2023.

The Research Associate will work closely with the Institute’s faculty directors, primarily supporting research and data analysis in stakeholder theory, stakeholder management, international development, social innovation, business purpose, infrastructure investment and social entrepreneurship in developing countries, social impact of business, and other key areas of research investment for the Institute. The successful candidate will advance a number of research projects from conceptualization through publication, formulate research methods, suggest options for improving quality, identify potential problems, recommend and implement solutions, and collaborate in the development of new techniques.  We expect that a significant portion of time will be devoted to collaborating with other faculty. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a PhD in management or related field. Candidates must show potential for excellence in research via publications, book chapters, cases, and other scholarly outputs on topics related to the social roles of business. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions, and proven ability to clearly articulate specific information in areas of subject matter expertise. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and of statistical and research tools appropriate to management disciplines is required.
