Summary

The Rui lab in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology is seeking a highly motivated and detail orientated Research Lab Tech Associate who works well independently for a basic research position.

Responsibilities*

Research programs cover obesity, type 2 diabetes, and liver diseases, using conditional knockout mice, primary hepatocytes and adipocytes, and manipulations of hypothalamic neural circuits. The responsibility includes, but is not limited to, routine lab managing, mouse colony maintenance, assisting postdoc fellows/Ph.D students with their projects, and independent experimentations using mice and cell cultures.

Required Qualifications*

  •  1) >3 years of lab research experience
  •  2) sufficient experience in metabolic analyzes in mice
  •  3) sufficient experience in cell cultures, immunoblotting, and immunostaining

Research Lab Tech Associate: 

  • HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 years’ experience required.

Research Lab Tech Intermediate: 

  • HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 1-3 years’ experience required. 

Research Lab Tech Senior: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cell Biology/Biochemistry/ Physiology and 1-2 years’ experience required.

Desired Qualifications*

  • A two-year minimum commitment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desired but not required.

Associate and Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cell Biology/ Biochemistry/ Physiology or related field preferred.

M-F days

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Background Screening
