Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Global Learning Advisor serves students at all stages of the study abroad cycle, supporting their successful integration of study abroad into their academic plan. The GL Advisor helps students within designated academic departments identify and plan for global learning opportunities that align with their academic objectives and requirements. This GL Advisor also facilitates various areas of program administration across program types and is directly involved with supporting programming sponsored by academic departments in the designated portfolio. The GL Advisor is actively involved in outreach and recruitment efforts, strategically collaborating with faculty and staff in the designated academic departments and student services units.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience OR Master’s degree.
  • Experience working with students in a university setting in advising, recruitment, marketing, or student services.
  • Experience living/working/studying in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to various audiences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student body.
  • Google suite application skills including GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, and GoogleSlides.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Experience living, working, and/or studying abroad
  • One year of relevant work or internship experience
  • Experience with TerraDotta or other Education Abroad management software
  • Proficiency in a foreign language
  • Knowledge of academic and international programs.

Additional Information:

Salary: Upper $50s

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items, and to walk short distances.
