Position Summary:

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a full-time Early College-Career and College Promise Liaison. The Early College-Career and College Promise Liaison’s overall objective is to assist in fulfilling the college’s mission and vision to improve lives and build community through public higher education and workforce development by building sustainable futures through the power of learning.

The Liaison will represent Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in the partnership with all early college programs and recruitment activities related to Career and College Promise/CTE pathway programs.

Required Education/Experience:

1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
2) At least one year of advising experience.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

1.) Experience in a high school setting preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1) Ability to work effectively and collegially with others.
2) Skill in the use of computers and commitment to use of technology.
3) Experience with current version of MS Office or similar programs.
4) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5) Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change.
6) Provide exceptional customer services with people internal and external to the institution.
7) Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college.
8) Flexible and adapts to change.

Duty and Responsibility:

1. Student support and the development of recommendations related to curriculum, scheduling and procedures for the respective Early College High School in partnership with the local education agency.

2. Communicates regularly with Early College Principals and designated liaisons and actively participates with student entrance interviews, new student orientations, early registrations, advising, special programs, open house events, graduation and other concurrent needs as determined by the administration.

3. Communicate with students and parents regarding the CCP–EC opportunities through information sessions, providing individualized advisement for all students, to insure students are registered in the appropriate courses.

4. Provide professional development for administrators, guidance counselors, and Career Development Coordinators regarding the Career and College Programs / Career Technical Education Pathways Operating Procedures and Early College student eligibility.

5. Instruct courses relative to study skills and/or developmental studies as well as in a specific credentialed area within curriculum.

6. Maintain accurate records of student participation and FTE reporting. FTE budget forecasting and weekly updates to Academic Programs.

7. Provide support in resolving institutional conflicts/questions relating to admissions, enrollment, flags, and appropriate issues regarding EC/CCP/CTE Students.

8. Maintains a minimum annual number of 30 hours of professional development in higher education opportunities.
