Administrative Assistant
Job Description
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, Media Lab, to provide varied and complex administrative support for Ekene Ijeoma and the Poetic Justice research group. Will support a diverse group of research teams as the administrative assistant-at-large under the supervision of the administrative support coordinator. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day spending for the group according to Media Lab and MIT procedures and compliance policies; scheduling and coordinating principal investigator and group calendars, including monitoring deadlines and important events; triaging communications; building collaborative relationships with colleagues, the press, sponsors, collaborators, and visitors; liaising between students and professor; serving as an information source for students regarding group activities, travel, purchasing, etc.

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a creative and diverse group of people including researchers, students, corporate sponsors, and administrators; strong organizational, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to exercise discretion, diplomacy, and tact; and excellent computer skills that includes proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort learning new software. PREFERRED: associate’s or bachelor's degree and experience with MIT business apps, e.g., Microsoft Office, SAPgui, Concur, Google Workspace, and Dropbox. Job #22802-5
